Our Story
Every company has a reason for its inception. This is the story behind StatTrack Health.
When one of the founder’s daughters was three weeks of age, she faced a perilous medical condition that was misdiagnosed multiple times.
As the disease progressed, she eventually ended up in the emergency room of a major medical facility where she was quickly intubated. The physicians, nurses and technicians were baffled over the signs and symptoms she displayed.
While in the emergency room, a respiratory therapist made the immediate suggestion to the treating physician that perhaps a test should be conducted for Pertussis. The physician had a puzzled look that the suggestion was made but went with the recommendation. Fortunately, the respiratory therapist had just taken time to read an article about the reemergence of whooping cough and its impact on children which had not been seen in the United States for years. It was later discovered that the infant's mother had a mild case and unwittingly transferred it to her daughter.
Although the story ended well and the little girl is now a freshman in nursing school, the founder of STH realized then the importance of a medical team, the value of continuing education, the need to make it easy and to do all that is possible to make information accessible that goes beyond just license and certification requirements. In the words of Dr. Samuel Johnson, “People more often need to be reminded than they need to be instructed.”
At STH, our goal is to help remind medical professionals and foster a team approach that helps improve healthcare through information.
We hope we can help you help others in your professional career. We look forward to you joining our conversation and our community.
